Z-Girls and Z-Boys: Debut of Global IDOLS

Hello everyone Sakura here. After a lot of anticipation finally the global Idol groups Z-Girls and Z-Boys debuted on 22 February (KST).

If you do not know who Z-Girls and Z-Boys are let me explain. A new entertainment company called Zenith Media have launched a project called Z-Pop Dream project. Z-Pop is supposed to call for the generation Z.
They are recruiting artists from different Asian countries. There are 7 countries that have been chosen their members from. The countries are India, Thailand, Taiwan,Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines and they released the last country as Japan. And the seven members of boys and girls are going to debut in two groups called Z-Boys and Z-Girls.

You can read about them more here Indian Kpop Idols : My Opinions.

Z-Girls music video is called What You Were Waiting For andthe Z-Boys music video is named No Limit. They had released two teasers of their mvs beforehand.

Well this is a very innovative thought nonetheless. At first I have been really anxious that they were going to sing in Korean language even when they do not have a single Korean member. But they released their music video in English which I found a good step. However that is not going to be considered as KPOP is it? But this is also probably a calculated thought because they don't have any Korean members in the groups and Knetz are usually ruthless.

But if they are promoting as Kpop groups then it will be criticized anyway.

But Let's see what happens in future. They are getting good responses from all over the world and the company has opened an opportunity for all to be an idol.

Personally I quite liked both mvs. The members have good vocals and decent rap and dancing ability. And as this is  temporary project I am eager to see if it becomes successful or not, accepted in Korea or not. They will have their first debut showcase in Jamsil Stadium, Seoul.

Well what do you think? Did you like their songs? What are your first impressions?

Indian Kpop Idols: My Opinions

Hello everyone! Sakura here. To day I am here with another blog.

In this blog we will be discussing about two new kpop idol groups that contain two Indian members for the first time.

If you don't know a new entertainment company known as Zenith Media Contents has released their own project called Z-Pop Dream Project, it is trying out the Global fame of Kpop with different Asian country members. They are creating two groups, one boy group and another girl group, with members of different Asian countries.

The Z-POP team now seeks to replicate the success of K-POP and create global music stars from multiple countries by bringing together the KPOP professionals and voting power of fans!
"The Project's business model has star creation business and global online monetisation platform. On one side, the proceeds from the ITO will be used to accelerate creating infrastructure for this star creation business, and on the other hand it will create global online monetisation platform, which will tokenize the revenue opportunities generated by the star creation business, including concert tickets, merchandise, online content and admission to exclusive events."

On January 17 they revealed their six members of each groups. Each group is supposed to contain seven members. Six members are revealed currently of both groups. The hidden members are reported to be revealed soon. Most probably they will be Korean members. The groups are supposed to showcase their performances on 22 February 2019. Most probably this is on experimental basis and the project is not permanent.

  • Carlyn (Phillippines)

And with this phenomenal idea to bring closer diversity for the first time in history Indian boys and girls are getting a chance to participate.

Priyanka Mazumder hails from Assam and is a participant of Changwon World Kpop Festival 2016 and winner of Best Vocal category.

Priyanka has gained lots of fans during and after her brilliant performance. Her name was also announced by RM of BTS.

About Sid we still don't have enough information.

Opinion Time

This is really a nice and unique approach taken by Zpop dreams entertainment. Diversity is fine and appreciated but this also can cause some complications.
First of all the appearances of Indian idols. They don't have the stereotypical East Asian looks and knetz are infamous for even roasting Korean idols over their looks. Also Indians usually have dark brown skin. That might also be a topic of harassment.
Also it is very natural that fans will mostly support the member representing their home countries. And this might bring out solo stan and fanwars which I don't want in country level.

Honestly as an Indian I don't want my country to be in kpop industry. I know that there are lots if youngsters would want to become one but they will have to go through rigorous training and beauty standards and body shape standards.

In India there is no Idol culture yet and most times those who have talent and do hard work get the achievement. I surely don't want anything called VISUALS to enter in the Indian mindset too. There is already fascination for fair skin among people and this tendency might bring out the worse among it. Yes I might sound a bit cynical but Indians are a bit too emotional in everything :unamused: :unamused: .

However I wish best of luck to Priyanka and Sid. I hope they can swim against all odds and emerge victorious. Also we still don't know that if they will sing in Korean or not.

So what do you think think about this? Do state in comments.

That's all for now
We'll meet again with another blog soon.
